Families will be able to get free food for children with help from a new mobile app during school closures due to the coronavirus crisis.
The app, called Free Meals for Kids, locates the nearest school or site offering food to children 18 years old and younger. The food is distributed at roughly 700 sites in Minnesota.
The app was launched by the non-profit Hunger Impact Partners and the state Department of Education.
It is available on Apple App or Google Play stores. For more information, visit hungerimpactpartners.org.
