From a “rock concert” to music stands and faux leather furniture, everything in the McNally Smith College of Music administration building must go.
Three months after the for-profit St. Paul school couldn’t make payroll and abruptly closed, a bankruptcy court has ordered its furniture sold at auction.
The contents have been divided into nearly 250 lots to be sold April 4 by Grafe Auction.

The items, open for bidding online at bit.ly/2DJDZ0o, include the furniture from 60 dorm rooms, along with numerous desks, chairs, couches and file cabinets.
There’s also a curious selection of art, including a group of small rocks with painted eyes secured to a wooden board. The listing reads: “Original rock concert (looks like the Rolling Stones).”
The school filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last month, saying it had between $1 million and $10 million in liabilities and $10 million to $50 million in assets.
Ramsey County has assessed the school building’s value to be $13.6 million.
