The University of Minnesota has appointed Mike Berthelsen as vice president of university services.
Berthelsen has held the job on an interim basis since August 2016, when President Eric Kaler restructured his Cabinet. He has worked for the university since 1993 in various finance and facilities management positions.
The vice president leads the U’s non-academic operations and more than 3,400 employees.
Berthelsen succeeds Pam Wheelock, who left the position in March 2016 and now is chief operating officer at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.
