Three Minnesota schools are among 58 recognized Friday as Green Ribbon schools by the Obama administration for their commitment to the environment.
They are Macalester College, Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights and Glendale Elementary in Savage.
The schools were recognized for reducing environmental impact, improving the health and wellness of students and staff, and providing environmental education.
Awardees get a plaque, flag and use of the award logo and are honored at a Washington D.C. ceremony in July.
