The University of Minnesota Board of Regents on Friday voted unanimously to make David McMillan of Duluth its new chairman.
McMillan, the executive vice president of Minnesota Power and a regent since 2011, has been vice chairman behind Dean Johnson for the past two years.
“May your ride be smoother than mine,” Johnson joked.
Regents also named General Mills CEO Ken Powell as vice chair. The Legislature elected the Golden Valley resident to the board in February.
