Concordia University in St. Paul is absorbing Platt College in the Denver area, a small, for-profit nursing school with a total enrollment of some 230 students.
As a result, Concordia’s hybrid nursing programs will now be offered on three campuses, including its main campus in St. Paul, a nursing campus that was acquired about three years ago in Portland, Ore., and the new location in Greenwood Village, south of Denver. Faculty and staff at Platt College will transition to Concordia as their employer, though existing Platt students will continue their current three-year program as planned.
Less than a year from now, new students will enroll in Concordia’s 16-month Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, pending final regulatory approval expected next May. The Platt College campus near Denver will be rebranded “CSP” by the end of the year.
News of the transition was announced this week by Concordia officials and carried on the Platt College website. The acquisition does not include a series of Platt College campuses in California, which are unaffiliated with the Colorado-based institution.
