An anonymous benefactor has once again donated $30,000 to the Washington County Library system.
The Washington County Board accepted the $30,000 donation on Tuesday. The donor, who has given gifts to the Washington County Library system for a number of years, wishes to remain anonymous, county officials said.
The funds will be used to purchase electronic books and audiobooks.
Last year, the benefactor’s $30,000 donation was used to help expand diversity in its materials. Past donations from the donor have been used to purchase materials and provide staff training, library officials said.
Washington County “gratefully accepts donations, gifts and bequests from public and private sources to enhance the programs and services it provides,” according to the county board’s resolution accepting the gift.
