Malinda Lansfeldt, who for the last two years has served as interim superintendent of Stillwater schools, will become principal of Brookview Elementary School in Woodbury this summer.
Lansfeldt was one of four finalists for Stillwater superintendent.
The Stillwater school board on April 8 unanimously selected Mike Funk, who has been the superintendent of Albert Lea Area Schools since 2009 and was named the 2022 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators. Prior to that, he was superintendent at the Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian (BOLD) School District for four years schools.
Lansfeldt took over as interim superintendent after former superintendent Denise Pontrelli was ousted from the position in June 2020. She was originally hired to fill a one-year term, but her term was extended.
Lansfeldt, who has worked for the Stillwater school district for 15 years, previously served as principal of five other district elementary schools: Lily Lake, Andersen, Withrow, Marine and Afton-Lakeland.
She has a master’s of education degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
