Minneapolis and Roseville are among the latest school districts making a temporary switch to online learning because of staffing shortages caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Minneapolis Public Schools on Wednesday announced classes would be canceled Friday and conducted online when school resumes Tuesday. Although school buildings will stay open, buses will run and meals will be offered, students are urged to stay home if they can.

In-person instruction is slated to resume Jan. 31.

Roseville also is canceling Friday classes. Schools will be closed, and students will learn from home for the next two weeks.
