Four St. Paul schools will temporarily start classes later in the day because of a bus driver shortage.
The district last week warned some bell times could change so that drivers can cover more routes.
On Wednesday, the district announced Battle Creek and Murray Middle School start times were moved back 30 minutes, to 9 a.m., and Wellstone Elementary and Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented Magnet were moved back 15 minutes, to 9:45 a.m.
St. Paul Public Schools also has said middle and high school students may have to walk as much as a mile to get to their bus stops this school year, the district will use more passenger vans to transport students, and office staff will be out driving routes.
Minneapolis Public Schools is dealing with the shortage by offering to reimburse parents who drive their kids to school and by filling buses to capacity, even during a pandemic.
