Valeria Silva will discuss her possible exit as superintendent of St. Paul Public Schools in a 9:30 a.m. Friday news conference.
School board chair Jon Schumacher, too, is scheduled to “discuss superintendent’s contract,” the school district said in a news release Thursday.

The school board said Wednesday that it was exploring options for “transitioning” Silva out of the job she’s held since December 2009.
The school board next meets on Tuesday. The agenda for that meeting contains no hint of a buyout for Silva.
One item titled “Approval of Superintendency Agreement” refers to a class of administrators under Silva, not the superintendent herself, district spokeswoman Toya Stewart Downey said.
Schumacher declined to comment Wednesday and Thursday.
