St. Paul Public Schools has paid a family $26,600 to settle a complaint concerning special education services.
The school board approved the agreement Dec. 18.
The district provided a redacted copy of that agreement Monday in response to a Pioneer Press public records request.
The student was identified by the initials L.S. in a report to the school board. The family’s specific allegations against the district are not included in the agreement.
Andrea Jepsen, an attorney who represented the family, said it would not be in the child’s interest to discuss the case.
The settlement required the parents to seek dismissal of a complaint they’d filed with the Minnesota Department of Education.
The school district did not admit to any wrongdoing.
